Just browsing through an event on iphoto tonight when i realised that several pics within that event have simply disappeared?????

Checked trash and nowt, thought about hidden but cant seem to find anything?

Anybody got any ideas - so frustrating. I am so convinced that i didnt delete randoms from an album

How can i check? Anywhere else to look? The iphoto explorer just takes you back to the iphoto albums

Really stuck and annoyed with it..... Never had problems with a mac before......

In your home dir is a photos dir, containing a package called iPhoto library. Right click it and use show package contents. See if you can find the originals inside. If you find them copy & paste to your desktop then reimport if you want.

iPhoto also has it's own private trash which is possibly where they are, hope you haven't emptied the iPhoto trash, then you can simply restore them from there, without messing about in the package.

Have you looked elsewhere? last 12 months or icloud on the iphoto menu. If you're using a mac do you have a
back-up drive such as timeline etc?

Will check again in detail, havent used timeline for ages on this mac. Will see what i can find under the directory and review the cloud. I did the last 12 months review and saw nothing. Am sure they are there somewhere as i know i havent deleted them and even remember showing them. I know the pics in question were taken on my iphone but really remember showing them to others on my tv which is connected to my mini mac

There are a number of excellent file search tools for Macs. I use HoodahSpot which allows you to search for files based on criteria such as file type, file name, date saved etc - very useful for finding stray files.

You can do the same thing on a command line, but the tools make it easier

i'm going to give that a whirl.

spotlight is a bit broken on my imac, and is a bit lacking even when it works.
