Having resisted the Ipod malarky, I've given in.

Basically work is offering us a Chrimbo present of 1 of the following

Chrimbo Hamper (with or without alcohol)
Canon Digi Camera
Ipod Nano

So I'm going with the Ipod, but reviews say the phones are not good. Plus reading reports here, guys like to listen them whilst riding. I've tried this with an old cheap MP3 player, found it a bit strange, but I'm openminded so I'll give it another go. If not flog it on Fleabay

Seen this on the site.

Budget a ton, anyone think these are OK?

i have a pair of Etymotic ER4-Ps and they are stunning, but i don't wear them on the bike. they stick out of my ears too much for a start.

i recommend custom made monitors by ultimate ear or similar for on bike use, but they will go well over budget i'm afraid.

Cheers,

Just read the review on the Apple site itself and the reliability put me off.

+1

i use Sony jobbies from tesco on the bike £20.
that fit right in the ear.:thumb MDR-EX35

Bought some cheap £20 in ear buds from currys as a gamble. It is not so much the shape in your ear but how much they stick out of your ear that matters when you have a helmet on. Gamble paid off!

i have a pair of them too. actually, i've had 3 pairs. they seem to "go off" after a reasonable period of time. maybe they don't like sweaty ears?

not in the same league as the etymotics for sound quality, but amazing value for money. good, bass heavy sound, and easier and more comfy to wear as they are not buried in the centre of your head like the etymotics.

sound isolation is not as good either. not used them on the bike, but i know some do.
