Ipod in Ram mount case

I have a G3 15GB IPod, which has finally died on the battery power, but works well on bike/car power.

So am thinking of putting in a Ram mount case and installing on handle bars.

I have a cheap Firewire cable, does any one know which lead is +ve and which is -ve?.

Going to connect the power and sound out on a multi pin plug and leave all connected in box.

any thoughts

I presume you mean which PIN on the firewire block???

PS If it's a HD version not solid state memory, it may not last very long unless you really isolate it from vibration

As fanny says that will die unless it is very well isolated and that sounds like a lot of ag when changing the battery is so cheap and piss easy
