Ipod - Itunes Question

For some reason, playlists I've created in Itunes, when transferred to the Ipod, play in a different order.

Yesterday, I created a new playlist. It's fairly important that it plays in the sequence that it appears in Itunes but on my Ipod, it is in a seemingly random order.

Have I enabled some shuffle feature that I don't know about?

That's the only thing I can think of - it would happen if you had shuffle enabled on your iPod (whether or not it were enabled on iTunes at the time of transfer to the iPod should make no difference).

I didn't realise that "shuffle" meant that it was applied to all playlists. I thought that it was simply an option to listen to all tracks without going into a playlist.

I've now disabled it and all is in order in my Ipod world.
