Anyone know if it's possible to connect an ipod to a autocom.

legger,

yes I have tried connecting my iPod to my Autocom, and the sound quality is shite!

I now connect my iPod to some very good quality Shure in-ear headphones (£99) and connect my iPod to the power supply of my GS.

The iPOd earphones are notoriuosly poor quality. Shure do some of the best in-ear phones around. Excellent sound quality and well worth the purchase. And they come with foam earplugs which also keep the wind and noise out too!!

Def worth a try:beerjug:

Curious as to why you found the sound quality shite - suggests misplaced Autocom speakers as know several iPod/Autocom users and we are all happy bunnies. Mind you we tend to run custom made ear canal monitors with an adapted Autom headset. Vastly superior and means we can bypass the Autocom altogether if we wish :D

Autocom's latest unit has an improved output which is supposed to work well with the standard headset and a rider wearing ear plugs but their speakers are VERY senstive to placement.

Sorry, but the sound quality is shite.

I have had my Auocom for two years and the headphones are fine for use with a cellular phone, but not if you want to listen to music with decent sound.

The only problem might be if you have the system wired for use with both, then I can see the convenience. Other than that, get some Shure earphones. Streets ahead.

can agree with that 100% judge!!

the Shure earphones come with an assortment of foam and gel in-ear sleeves that fit onto the monitors, so you choose the right fit for you.

they work as good, if not better than a set of ear plugs, with the added bonus of filtering out all the background noise.

not easy to find, but definitely worth the wonga.
