new computer. Now I seem to have deleted everything on my IPOD and having problems loading my library back onto it.

A bit confused here:P

Should I have "unauthorised" my old PC before trying to load the music back onto the Ipod on this new PC.

Or as I suspect, am I just being crap.

Typically, one thing goes wrong it all goes wrong. i tried to download the Ipod manual, but the PC needs to know the format, to read it! FFS

help

you can have 5 authorised computers, so that's not the problem.

sounds like you either have no music on the new one, or are not syncing the right playlists with the ipod.

if you're ditching the old computer, you should de-authorise it.

when you plug your ipod onto your pc, the library of your music on your pc is the one to synch from......it doesnt synch from ipod to PC

.... so if you have a new pc and have no songs loaded into your itunes library on your pc, it will delete all the stuff on the ipod

simplest way ......

Look in your deleted items to see if the files have been moved there

Copy them back to a folder on the desktop, then in iTunes choose "add folder to library", select the folder on the desktop and let iTunes import it back in the library

I saved all the iTunes music into an external hard drive some while ago when I feared the old PC was about to die.

I am trying to transfer from the library to the iPod and not from iPod to PC.

It's unfortunately dawned on me that the new PC is not authorised, as the authorisation process was done about 6 months ago on the old PC, I have forgotten the process.

I can just about read a serial No. on the back of the iPod, but the password????????????? Would this have come with the iPod, or would it have been one of my own making?

Help!!!

i think it's asking for the password of your itunes account.

you will have created it, but should be able to retrieve it from apple.
