Irish Character's nicknames...

Hi,

Looked up the source of band name "Lick the Tins" and it seems maybe from a Belfast "character".

There were a few going round in Dublin (Fortycoats, Bangbang)..

Anyone know any more names?

I went to school with the singer - Alison Marr, back in the day.

Alison hailed from Killyleagh (Co.Down) and I always heard that the name related to down and outs in London...but what do i know!!!

I'm pretty sure they named the band after a homeless man in Newcastle, Co Down. Boirche knew some of the band as well as the man they named it after, he was well known in the town.
