I've never been a fan of the 1150GS/GSA, but am currently watching The Long Way Round for the gazillienth time and have started thinking the 1150GSA actually looks quite cool (in silver). Is it a sign of getting older? :augie

No it looks lovely in that colour, I missed out on one on here :(

A real sign of getting old is sitting in a rocking chair stinking of stale piss whilst watching Miss Marple re runs and whining about the good old days.

Agree

Yes agree looks very cool - but shame about the engine - maybe BM could to a version of the above but with a twin cam motor :augie

Fabulous bikes: I've had 2 black 1150 GS's and 2 silver 1150 GSA's - still have one of the GS's but I had to move on to a 1200 GSA for my latest bike - still learning to love it

For me the 1150's are much better then the early 1200s - but with a decade of tweaking and new technology I can feel the new 1200 will eventually win me over. One thing I don't miss is those f***ing servo brakes - the 1150 I kept predates those :rob

I don't know.. I'm 33 and wondering about changing from a R1100RS to a R1150GS. I think the 1150GSA looks v cool, but being a bit of a short arse, not sure if I'd fit on one..

I guess the real question is, do they think they just look cool.. or do you actually want one..

Still have a soft spot for them and really liked my 2004 GSA :D

Would not want to go back to one now though ;)

No, I don't want one as an more than happy with my 1200GSA twin cam, and still think the 1200 is a much nicer looking bike. Just I've never liked the 1150, always thought it looked odd, especially the 'droopy' tank, but just recently I suddenly like it :thumb2

2 signs of getting old

finding a stick when your out walking and taking it home for paint stirring.

watching a porn movie and thinking to yourself "that bed looks comfy"

I've always thought that the 1150GSA looks the best of all GS', but still prefer my 'cooking' version.

1200's do absolutely nothing for me, but if I had to, would prefer the standard version, In my eyes the 1200GSA looks shit!

unfortunately not. Lots of us 1150 owners have servo brakes.

But I guess the worst thing is they can go wrong and have to lose the servo.

Hopefully that doesn't happen anywhere too inconvenient.

Lots of us 1150 owners have servo brakes.

I know and I sympathize - I lived 6 years with them - hated/loathed/detested them - swore I would never buy another bike with them

Thankfully braking is only a small part of the total experience and I loved pretty much everything else about the bikes
