I had posession of a KTM 640 Adv for 4 years, easy enough to respect but impossible to love. I'm told these are of a different order of loveliness altogether. . Awesome bikes but just a tad more expensive than a 650 - like 4 times as much! Very nice though. Here's me on one Attachments stella200200238.jpg 66.8 KB · Views: 520

Dakar or was on my list - but in the end price and the fact that it was a twin rather than single made me buy a 96 Transalp. Of course - if you plan to use it for mainly offroading - the Dakar would be the clear winner

I found the Dakar better alround,+ lots more MPG,and great off road. I have tried the KTMs OK if you have loads of cash and dont mind it being in the Dealers most of the Time
