Isle of Man: keeping the trails open

Sadly chaps, nobody ever takes any notice of these polls. What would keep the trails open would be the users who are destroying them actually putting something back in. Our version of DEFRA works hand in hand with GLUG (green lane user group) and they make repairs etc where they can. Where damage is too bad, they seal off the areas to allow time for recovery. Unfortunately some users have been smashing down these gates and fences and just carry on using the runs.

These are a mixture of locals and you foreigners and are two and four wheel users. The actions of a selfish few will ruin it for all - as is ever the case

There may be interest in inviting the foreigners to a few days on the Island to combine time on a working party combined with some laning with the locals.

I'm sure the TRF magazine would publish information on the event for free, and there was a good write up on the lanes on the island recently.

ANYTHING to keep lanes open is worth a try.
