Whats the "proper" use of them

I migrated from Orange to Sky in August but still got charged by Orange for September and October for a service I no longer get.
After many phone calls to both Orange and Sky including one where I was on hold for 18 minutes, thier blaming each other.

Orange said that Sky hadnt used the migratrion code properly and had only told them to suspend the line not discontinue the service, and any refund would need to come from Sky.

Sky said they had used the migration code properly and that Orange are just trying to keep my money

Going through a similar thing at the moment. Migrated from TESCO to TISCALI using the MAC code. Tesco want to bill me for usage for November despite the change over happening on the 20th Oct and I'm unable to log on via Tesco. Have simply cancelled my direct debit and await the 'nasty' letter through the door any day now. I will not be paying for a service I haven't received regardless of their 'company policy'...

Steph as long as you complied by giving the correct notice to Orange they are obliged to refund, why should Sky pay you back money you paid to Orange :nenau
.
And Growler did the right thing, cancell the direct debit and let them invoice you for any money they think you might owe them :rob
