Has anyone out there got experience of replacement braided oil lines to the oil cooler on R100GS's ?
In my haste to reassemble the exhaust in time for the NE Meeting last night I didn't check for clearance betwixt oil pipes and down pipes, result? Waterproofing of right side of bike and rider and pillion.
I've ordered a replacement as I want the bike for this W/E's off-road adventure (see Local Ride Outs and Meetings page), but want to consider alternatives for longer term.
Is it worth getting the relocation kit from Tourtech ? It has braided lines and moves the oil cooler more 'out of the way' - but what are peoples practical experience ? Anyone had braided replacement pipes made up - don't seem to be available from the regular BM spares places, not possible ? Not worth it ?
I guess I'll only make this mistake once, at £30 odd, but would be interested if anyone has any good tips better than "be more careful next time " !!
PS : I WILL be getting the Tourtech bypass piece to cover this eventuality in the future !

Yupp, lovely drive home, grrr, still spittin feathers ! New pipe arrived (top people Motobins, less than 24hrs normal delivery) and hope to fit tonight, so on for W/E.
If anyone has comments on touratechs resiting of cooler I'd still like to hear their comments, may still move it.

The well is capped !

New lines arrived as promised. New ones are braided as Howard mentions above. My '89 must have been an early one before they amended design. The new lines avoid the exhuast by design - something the originals didn't !
For info, I changed the pair at £80 seeing as it was such an improved design, but.
The mounts on the oil cooler appear to be alloy, and last owner threaded and PTFE taped one of em. The new lines nut seems to have re-cut the threads, but if anyone else is dissassemling said cooler I'd advise care, lots of lube, and no overtightening of oil-line nuts on reassembly !
We shall go to the party ! See you in the rain (please no !) on Sunday in Thirsk those that are going. Phew.
