It's finished (again!)

i hate to say it ,but i really like the black look ,and may ,i say may ,go down that route if i hang onto the road glide .
allthough my compulsion as a polisher ,will be severly tested

IF....IF....If I hang on to the Road King.......doubt.....doubt....so, it will be mine...:D

Mr melch - wheres that cover thingy around the bottom of the rear guard from ?

It's a HD part from a Streetglide.

See here: http://www.jerseyh-d.com/Components.aspx?model=Touring&year=2007&part=3009

It is no.22. It bolts through the mudguard (I refuse to call it a fender :blast). It is designed to have a brake light through the grill thingy at the bottom. I couldn't be arsed with that faff so put a black bit behind. If you get one from an early Streetglide it should fit. A later one wont due to the bigger tyre size they went to which changed the mudguard size. You can get them in just primer as well which brings the cost down. Having said it will fit, mine is a 2005 Twin Cam so you would have to check out the mudguard shape in comparison on an Evo. (i.e. don't blame me! :D)

My battery is fecked - i'm off right now to CPC in surbition for a nice new matt black replacement.

You could always get it powder-coated if it was not black!

I love it its a great looking bike but I have to say those panniers need a bit of work on them to look nice, i'd be out with the Cherry Blossom to tone them down a bit.

I had a black set on my FatBoy, i was blatting down the M3 when a car came past and waved me down, i was going to ignore him but I just caught the words 'Fire' a quick look behind confirmed the bottom of the pannier was on fire:blast

Full of Jewellery the tissue paper inside had caught and was just starting to get going, luckily I was busting for a piss:thumb2

I know what you mean re. the colour, although they are not quite as bright in the flesh (at night :D). If they haven't dulled up a bit after they've endured a bit of rough and tumble of the Surrey Badlands, maybe I'll try a bit of boot polish.

I should be ok regarding setting fire to them as about the only time I carry large quantities of tissue is when I go dogging. I generally prefer the van for that hobby anyway as I can carry more rope! :D :augie

Lots of powdercoating (a de-blinging exercise) and new leather bags (partly because of their cavernous size for 2 up camping and partly because I like em!).

There's an old tat shop in goldbourne road, notting hill, that's full of weird and wonderful stuff, and inside there's lovely set of old leather panniers, two sets in fact.
Very old with a charming antiqueeee finish. They'll look the dogs bollox on an old harley.
I casually asked "how much these old bags mate", to which he replied 450.... now i don't know if that was for both sets or just the one... I told him he's been watching to much harry enfield.......

This is the scenerio to an absolute "T". I'm up there this friday, i'll get a picture.

If they are genuine pieces of antique shit please let him know I will gladly give him 450 each! :D. Patina – more expensive than gold. Could you ask him if he sells jars of Patina as well for me please. :D
