Hi folks,

Good news and bad news.....

The 11 reg bike has arrived, after part xing my R1150 GS and my 2008 R1 (have to say it was a wrench to part with the rice rocket :tears).

Bad news, I get to look at it in the garage until 0001 on Tuesday before I can ride it, temptation or wot :augie

Need to sort some engine bars and and a bash plate, Adventure Spec appear good.

Oh well, time to lock garage and go for beer :beerjug:

Very, very nice bike you have there mate. Bet the temptation to ride it is enormous!!:drool

I'm looking at getting one myself, but secondhand F800GS's are very thin on the ground!

Enjoy your new steed.

Exactly the same colour as mine, but I don't get it till the 4th. Got my bash plate, hand guards, Beowulf can and Tail plate ready to go on, can't wait. The bash plate and tailrack plate are Altrider from Nippy's, definately the best looking IMO.

Hi Stu and welcome
My 1150 went in a private sale last Saturday - 1200 triple black sitting in dealers workshop. Roll on Tuesday.

I'm selling some Adventure spec Metal Mule crash bars if your interested? see the thread in this area under "it's a sad day". real bargain :thumb2

Stop Stop, I am interested in the Adventure Spec Bars, but cannot access the link, I recently emailed the site to seek how to subscribe by cheque, rather than using paypal, no response to date.

How can I contact you for more details, condition, price etc?

Regards,

Stuart

Oooh Stuart that is one sexy looking bike, loving the colour....:)

Where is your first ride going to be on her then?

Morticia:beerjug:

Hello Morticia,

First ride, may most unexcitingly be into work in Manchester to work ! But I suppose the manual does say avoid long runs at high speed, no chance of that....

Out round the Trough of Bowland sounds good for a run out.

One more day to go.....

Couldn't have ridden today anyway, too much celebrating Englands' rugby victory yesterday

Regards

Stuart - safe and happy riding, when the effects of rugby celebrations have worn off

:beerjug:

StuartH, if its brand new. Do as the manual says, its only 600 miles till first service. Be nice to your steed, go steady without high-speed. Do not thrape the engine, you have to run it in. Keep it below 70 or seriously warm the engine up for the first 10 miles (of each journey)..I'm not gunna go ape but you have been warned :blast

I felt my bike wasn't ran in till over 8-10k.

Apologies, I didn't mean i was going to ignore the run in procedure, it was more that the chances of high speed when going into Manchester in a morning are nil.

Thanks for the info. :thumb2
