At some point on this Desktop PC I'm on, I've installed or modified something and any .jpg or .bmp files I have on my desktop appears as a mini weeny thumbnail, which is really handy when you're messing around with images or browsing and saving stuff etc etc.

It's easy to do in a folder in explorer view, but I can't remember how I did it on the desktop....and I'd like to reproduce this on the laptop....

Anyone know how I managed to do it?? :blast:o

Desktop is just a folder under your home dir. Can you 'do the same in an explorer view' on things in the ~/desktop folder and see if they reflect on the screen.

I think the feature comes with Photoshop or ACDSee.

There are a couple of shareware packages called gicons and avedesk that might do it as well.

I do have photoshop installed but I don't remember setting it to do this....I'm on XP.

I'll have a look through the desktop folder options thing Ian.....it does sound possible doesn't it (can't remember doing it though :nenau)
:)
