. . . well, I haven't really, but onto to bike things -

Rode into a petrol station yesterday on my 1200GSA, 5 miles to go according to the onboard computer with just a little petrol sloshing around somewhere in the bottom of the tank.

I put 35.01 litres of fuel in - brilliant! Thought it was a 33 litre tank?

Roll on those long summer days. France on a Sunday will never be scary again.

Amen to that. I Can't wait for May and the French GP to let my 12GSA stretch its legs!. Coming back last year on the Mille I was down to 55mph for about 45 miles praying that I was going to make it to the next petrol station on the Autoroute.

No worries this year though:bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1

did a run last year, Bordon to dover (117M),Calais to Munster (germany, 302M)

I filled up at Farnham, the tank was brimmed,
and i made it as far as dusseldorf and i put in the 5L container as i was at about 20 miles past 0 miles to go and i didnt want to stop on a junction!!

(oh, and My cruising speed was about 85Mph)

the tank range was one of the reasons for buying the Adv, and it hasnt let me down yet!:beerjug:

I'm sure I read a thread somewhere that said if you run the tank down to empty then the fuel computer learns what 'empty' really is and re-calibrates the '0 miles' range to give a more accurate reading.

Sounds plausible to me but can anyone confirm this:confused:

P.S. the panniers and top box have just arrived for my 12GSA so I might stick a 5L can in and give it a go...........
