I've searched and search for paint...help!

Hello all,

my bike (an R1150R, not quite a GS , but this is the BEST forum) says the paint code is 796, the online references say it's 796, atlanta blue. But, where ever I go they all look blank, not recognising the colour code. I've searched online too but drawn a blank.

Does anyone here know where I can get a spray can or 2 of this colour?

Hi my GS is azure blue RS didnt have it in stock but given a flake of the old paint said they could match.

On the off chance I went to halfords , they have a folder about 6" thick with 1000's of paint colours on.
A dacia colour mnatched my Azure ,,,the mixed it on the spot for £9 for @100-150mm

Hey warmshed, I couldn't find the colour I wanted. I also think the 796 may have been a bum steer, it may be 306, this is certainly more successful when I search the web. I've emailed RS, I may now be able to get my local motor factors to mix me a 306. I'll see. T'is complicated

If you go to trade paint supplier (people who supply bodyshops)
they will match the colour for you, take your bike with you,
they will use a spectrometer, or colour chips to do this. They can then make the paint for you. In some respects this is a better method than making the paint from the code.

Dont forget you will need some clear laquer too, may be matt or gloss depends what you are painting.

i'm painting a front mudguard, so i guess it should be gloss laquer?

I'm actually fitting a K1200RS front mudguard to replace the 'horrible' standard front mudguard. It's a straight bolt on replacement
