Friend of mine has made his own website with Iweb. He asked me to go and sort out the FTP settings for him as he could not sort it out.

I set it up with login password and directory path and published the site.

The problem is that Iweb creates a folder in the root of his site and publishes. So rather than www.domain.com he has www.domain.com/site which obviously does not work. I went into the site and moved all the files manually to get it working, but this is way OTT for him. Is there a solution

It is always easier with MAC:D

Dunno how to help ... I produced my own web sites on iWeb and just got the domain name provider to point it at my sites hosted with MobileMe

It was really really simple :)

Right this one for future reference.

I web has some flaws apparently its FTP system being one of them if not using the MAC space like what Micky does.

Mac are going to stop hosting sites next year so all sites made with Iweb will need hosting elsewhere.

If you don't know how to use FTP or want to use it, download Iweb Publisher and use it. A single click and the site is updated, like what it should be from Iweb but it does not work...

I don't need any if or but answers to this thread I am just letting people know a solution
