I any one interested in a bimble around Thetford Forest next sunday (20th) to see the Annual John Banks National mc enduro.

Short write up here:

http://www.acld21.ukgateway.net/stable/endur.htm

They usually have 200-300+ riders covering up to 90 miles dependant upon the class. There are several tricky stages (special sections) which are facinating to watch.

I'm hoping to pop down and spend a few hours, take a flask, buy a burger and ride around to each of the first aid points (my 4x4 club provides the vehicles) and chat, as well as spectate some of the riding.

I also intend to ride the old Drovers Road which leads into the forest from the A11. Its a pretty interesting track with a few holes, puddles and muddy stretches

I attend most years (March and November) and its a good day out.

I have competed in this one half a dozen times,it's the best event IMO in the eastern section :thumb don't think an HP2 would get though the ruts in the wooded section let alone the bogs, awesome course though, don't miss the very long laps one bit :( it's a tuffy.Andy

Yep hard work this one especialy when it rains.Managed to finish almost on time last year but not competing this year as i've just sold my 450exc. Might go along to watch them jump out the bombhole :thumb

Assuming its not totally p*ssing down I will be leaving mine (Gt. Yarmouth) @ about 8:00 and riding down A47 A11 to the start point. Start time is 09:00 I intend to watch a bit of the race, some of the special sections then have a ride on the rides around to some of the marshall points.
After lunch (when I've had enough) I was planning to try a few nearby lanes and finish with the old drovers road on the way home. Nothing too special or planned, just a gently bimble with something to watch.

Apparently there is a maximum of 210 entrants allowed, its the March one where there can be over 300.

Your more than welcome.

I aim to be at the road entrance (TL 82455 89073) at about 08:50. Straight along the track from there is the main RV point (TL 81203 89398) after that I shall be following the advice of spectators and marshalls. I do hope to pick up a map of the route from one of my 4X4 mates.

After that its make it up as I go along.

There are a couple of RUPPs nearby (shown on the map in red) so I thought I'd have a look at them before their banned

If you coming I'll see you there. You'll easily recognise me I'm the one on a motorbike :D

Excellent day, well worth braving the sub-zero start :thumb

Good weather, excellent company, good fun on the tracks and trails and home in time for toad in the hole and scrapheap challenge! What more can you ask for :)

Good to meet you Tree-man, I'm now checking the prices for those TCK's. The website I mentioned is www.4x4response.net. Eddie, nice to meet you too maybe next time you join us with your GS?

Looking forward to the next outing.

Cheers

I would like to join you, but at the moment I am on cast alloy wheels and sport touring tyres.
My spoked wheels have the tyres supplied when the bike was new.
I assume knoblies are needed?
Mike.

I have spokes but I am currently riding on the Anakees which came with the bike.
Although the bike was a bit wobbly with a few 'fishtail' moments overall it handled quite well.
I do intend to fit TKC 80 but I will probably wait until after winter as most of my riding over the next few months will be on the road.
Keep wathing this spot maybe I'll arange something in the new year.
