I went into JC's this morning to mooch a charity donation prize for the GOTC from Alan Dalziel, (which he kindly agreed to :thumb2) and I noticed that they're doing interest free finance over the entire bike range. There is a 50% deposit and up to 5 years to pay. Quite a wee saving I would have thought.

sounds like they're getting desperate to sell bikes:eek

are they losing the bike franchise like Aberdeen?:nenau

I don't think that "desperation" has anything to do with it....;)

....and I think you'll find that's misinformation. I believe that an active decision was taken to centralise bike sales in Dundee while servicing is still carried out in Aberdeen for local customers. There was a Motorrad Open Day in Aberdeen earlier in the year at which the BMW Motorrad travelling test fleet was present so that Aberdeen customers could road test the current range.

At the time of the above, despite giving me a verbal promise of a donation, Mr Dalziel asked me to send in an official request to him personally via email.

I did this the next day. I've subsequently sent him 2 further emails (none acknowledged or replied to). Surprisingly, every time I've phoned John Clarks and asked for AD, he's either been away from his desk, on a day off or with a customer. I must have phoned six or eight times, each time leaving my name. He hasn't returned my calls. Now, I've had this before with AD and (quell surprise) he took my call when I gave the receptionist a fictitious name  I really cannae be fecked dealing in any similar subterfuge to try and contact him this year.

I'm no' that desperate to get a donation from JC or Alan Dalziel but I wish to feck he'd been honest enough to tell me to feck off to my face. If AD hasn't been given the emails or phone messages, that's even more alarming from a firm of Clark's standing (er...assuming that they have any).

I hope that people whom Mr Dalziel is desperate to relieve of their hard earned have an easier time in contacting him. Somehow, I think that they will....

Edit: I'll be more than happy to be proved wrong on this but 3 weeks after a verbal promise with the knowledge that the event starts tomorrow, what d'ya think o' my chances?

Ah, well. That's three further phone calls since 2 p.m. to JC requesting that Dalziel phone me. I'd little hope or expectation that he would. I simply wanted to give him a final chance before posting this.

I sincerly hope he's more honest with his paying customers. Somehow I doubt it though...

From what I remember of last year, Im surprised that you even asked.
Got your voicemail btw :thumb2

That's what Christine said. I'm really annoyed at myself for even considering that he might have been genuine. When I think of the time I've wasted on this. :blast :blast

Funnily enough, I got a PM from someone this afternoon. The heading was "Dalziel". The PM said simply "He's a cock". Wise words indeed.
