Purchased from Bilko of this parish - a cracking bloke and the bike's a credit to his ownership :thumby:

All I need now is to lower it enough so I can touch the floor  - anyone have anything in the garage that'll help I'll be interested

Cheers for now

Come to The Netherlands, Bas @ Hyperpro will sort it for you. One of the best, if not the best, in the business.

I'm about 20 mins from him so if you need to overnight, and we are not away, you can crash at mine.

Cheers Micky, those steps will do till I get her lowered or get some platform boots :D - managed to get into work this morning without having to stop and put a foot down, lots of slow wobbling up to junctions..

Thanks for the kind offer Mike, once funds recover I may well take you up on that :thumb2

In the meantime I've seen a rear suspension collar on ebay that lowers it 40mm - that may be a start. I've checked the rear suspension pressure which is 7.5 bar so don't want to lower that any further

I ran mine at 90 ish psi and it was fine

As the shock gets warm, it stiffens up so you won't bottom out anyway

Hyperpro is the best route or find a used XCountry shock for the short term

UKGSer at its best ... Micky

Meant to ask .... how's Stan doing?
:beerjug:

Cheers JB, I'll try that tonight

Micky, Stan's a twat - no other word to describe him. Into everything, eats anything, craps everywhere (but not indoors - bonus) and wouldn't have him any other way, real character.

Git keeps pinching my tools when I'm not looking though. It's a conspiracy with his mate Bailey who pinches my socks

Pair of hooligans :rob

Hi Mike,
Nice to meet you yesterday and glad you got home safe. It must have been a long day for you.
I hope you have many enjoyable miles on her, I certainly did. You are always welcome to call in anytime, Micky, JB and I will be more than happy to show you and Giles around the Yorkshire Dales.
Cheers Malc :thumby::beerjug:

Ha ha ... good to here you got him house trained in the end. He's lovely :thumb

What he says ... get your 'eads together down there and sort out some dates and we'll be more than glad to welcome you up here in di norf for some crackin' riding, scenery, hospitality and bier :D

Not too much time off for Giles though ... he needs to keep paying them thar pension contributions which I'm spending as quick as he's paying in to

:beerjug:

We'll take you up on that fellas :thumb2 That's if I'm not speaking out of turn for Giles, :D

Put the front forks back to factory setting today and put the rear down to 6 bar - just to fiddle and see what suits best. (Malc had it set up for fast cornering, bet not much got past him). Just been out for a late spin and the headlight's illuminating the treetops, I'll up it a bit at a time and find a happy medium between being able to reach the floor and not draggin' it's arse..

Think about 6.75 - 7 will be what I end up with. At the current pressure the side stand fouls the ground when used so must be too low -may still need to buy that lowering collar

Welcome gooner.

Bike looks tidy. You should have some fun with that. I love mine :thumby:

Yorkshire, that's a blast as well. Enjoy.

Done a couple of hundred miles.... verdict, I love it  Quicker, lighter and ergonomically just right. Feels much quicker to change direction than theTenere, engine much more flexible too... 3rd gear was perfect for a favourite blast through some local b roads. Considered increasing the range with an auxiliary tank but not sure I really need to, only trips I have planned is to the Pyrenees in September where 130 ish miles will be plenty.

Adjusted the shock pressure several times and what I think I need is a new shock :D, it's fine on the move but sooner or later it's going to have me off when putting a foot down or braking..... tall as the bike is, it grows stilts when the rear is unloaded and it will only be worse off road

If anyone has a XC rear shock not being used I'll be interested in doing a deal
