Not too far off your route and very worthwhile visiting.

Worth a run around hallstatt see, toplitz see etc , if staying in Salzburg you aren't far away from Werfen castle (where eagles dare) and the ice caves, if you go to Berchtesgarden its worth visiting the salt mines and Konig See.

The Steigl brewery trip is worth a visit as is the freilicht museum and the water gardens at Schloss Hellbrun plus the castle at Salzburg itself
