Jumping from 2nd into neutral

Following a service recently my '04 R12GS has developed a habit of leaving 2nd gear and jumping into neutral of its own accord. It's happened three times in three days since I got the bike back. It might have nothing to do with the service of course.

This is only a minor inconvenience but thought I would consult the wisdom here assembled to see if it might indicate that I am about to loose 2nd gear. I'm off on a 8k mile trip shortly and would like to know if a trip to the dealers demanding a new gearbox is reasonable?

I thought jumping into neutral was a feature of the bike. Mine's a 55 plate and regularly throws up a false neutral or actually jumps to neutral (even from 5th gear). It doesn't do it all the time, but regularly. I'm sure I read a thread which said just make sure you change gear a little more slowly and with firmer pressure.

Still I've only got the bike for another couple of days and then it's 'Aufwiedersehen BMW'.
 
This happened a LOT on my 1st 12 GS and was only solved by new gearbox . Well, 3 gearboxes actually.
