Jumping Mouse!

I bought a Logitech MX500 mouse, uninstalled the software for the old Microsoft Trackball and installed Logitechs software, plugged in, rebooted, downloaded latest software and rebooted again... now the cursor jumps around like a snake on a hot tin roof!
Bad enough just browsing but playing a game is impossible, any suggestions before the fecking thing goes out the window

Switch it on, sit back, open a beer and ENJOY

yeah, but don't think you'll be playing any games on it. there aren't any.

well ok, not many good ones.

and if a new one comes out in 6 months that needs more oomph you won't just be bunging in a new graphics card either. do macs have decent video cards? is there a 9800 pro for macs? i don't know.

what's worrying is, i quite fancy one. specially that gorgeous G5? twin processor thing. the design, the build quality.........mmmmmmm

Whilst your fine rolled and pressed local halloumi mats are a delectable surface down your cheap and cheerful internet kafenion where the mice, no doubt, have balls the size of blackbirds; your more sophisticated optical mouse likes to get his little rodent teeth into some higher quality optical cheese.

Also run through this bit below again in case of residual MS drivers lurking in holes:

Uninstall all mice in Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager.
Close down.
Plug in mouse.
Reboot.
Reinstall Logitech software.
Use left over Halloumi as prayer mat.

Have not read all posts but

Go to logitech site and download newest driver
Uninstall all drivers and unplug mouse
reinstall
replug

and hope the friggin thing works
