Well I will get the ball rolling. I have just had the weekend of Sat14th/Sun15th of May freed up (my brother inlaw has shifted his :beer::beer::beer::beer:Stag weekend end to the 21st :nenau I will be in Bognor for another :beer::beer::beer: stag then:augie) where was eye :D
So this is what I think; How about a ride out starting from KAARRRDIIFFF at 1030ish Leaving from the Texaco (ASDA) on Coryton J32 wobbling along to J45/6 to Morriston Hospital and meeting the west Tossers at the layby just by the ickle R-about by A&E Grid ref N51 40.819 W3 56.646 at 1100-1115.
From there we go up over the top and past the Scotch Pine pub. From there to Pendine Sands, then to Tenby Via the old coastal road (Amroth etc) then A4139/B4585 Pembroke and onto St Brides bay, Little Haven ish. A late ish Lunch en-route then back. Am planning to stay off the A roads as much as possible so if you have a fave bit of B/C road tell me and we can fit it in :thumb2
This is only loose at the Moment as Taff was going to sort it out, but he must be busy selling houses :augie Sat or Sun (Sun is fathers day mind, I will be doing all that next year, so must get out while I can :augie) is good for me but need to set a date ASAP unless Taff has got another plan. The summer will soon be gone, so come on tell me your options. i.e either Sat or Sun, Sat only etc :thumb

Allan the first line refers to May ?

Are we talking this coming weekend 7th/8th June?

:blast :blast June 14th/15th :blast The clue was Fathers day :rob The treasure hunt was last month, no need for puzzles :blast it's all Mels fault :thedummy :D :D
OK OK I MEANT JUNE OK, sorry!!!

I take it the date is sat 14th June.....11.00ish at morriston hosp:)??

Selling houses? Oh yes, there's a mini "boom" in Carmarthen and all the media boys have missed it. Dream on McDuff. :D

I wouldn't mind arranging a ride-out, but hadn't planned on doing it quite so soon. We will be away on the bike this weekend (3 couples on 3 bikes up to North Wales) :bounce1 but if this ride-out is on, Sunday will be best for me as I won't be able to get 2 consecutive Saturdays off work. And Sunday is Fathers Day, so she will agree to whatever I suggest. :green gri

Allan if you can e-mail me the suggested route as a Mapsource file, I can have a look to see if I can "tweak" it a bit to take in some good local coast roads especially around Laugharne, Pendine etc. Between 2/3 of us, we should be able to sort out a cracker. I'll PM you my e-mail address, but bear in mind I probably won't be able to look at it till Monday.

I'd love to join you, but a certain Mr. Springsteen is in Cardiff on the 14th. so I'll be going the opposite direction to you tossers!

If this happens on the Saturday I might join you I'm sure we can find a more interesting way to get to Morriston than the M4 though:rolleyes: can't make the Sunday as it's Father's Day and I'm being "taken out" for the day by my family ;)
I'll let you guys sort it out :augie

So far we have 2 for the Saturday and Two for the Sunday,(+me) Keep your Bids coming as its 50/50
Steve there are more interesting rides to Morriston, but ewe know how difficult it is to get these tossers out of bed in the morning :augie plus we will have to be at Morriston at 1100 ish otherwise the west Wales tossers will want a piss as there bladders will fail otherwise. :D :D
Taff I will email ewe my routeish by Monday so you can tweek or add to it at will. As long as it's B/C roads :thumb
Mr Spring-stine isn't that a weak lager??????????????? or is that that noisy twat who keeps on going on about the ewe ssss of Hay?

Depending on the weather obviously, but does anyone fancy a beach BBQ at Llansteffan? (N51 46.274 W4 22.888). If this rideout is on Saturday, the wife and I could arrange a BBQ on the beach - as long as its after 5pm, as I can get away from work a bit earlier. If it's on the Sunday, perhaps we could have it late in the afternoon - possibly on the way back. It's a suggestion.

Sounds good, is that the menu or what :nenau as the boy could need fattening up! I take it the chef in the phot is available :augie I need to be back in Cardiff early/mid evening. No!, not Midnight :thumb

:bounce1 bumytity :bounce1 Bump!!!! Waiting for the weather forcast or what :augie. taff will need to know for the BBQ :D So come on sign up :thumb2
This is as far as I have got. I know the obvious route to St Bribes bay etc.

I had a look at the route you suggested Allan and TBH it already included the 4 roads I was going to suggest. I don't know the area East of Swansea very well, so don't feel I can offer an alternative to the M4. :thumb2

The only change I have made is altered the position of the waypoint named "Taffs BBQ". The car park where we can park the bikes isn't shown, but the new waypoint should be accurate enough. Basically, it's the 1st car park as you drive down to the beach, and there is a public toilet block tucked in on the left. Keep an eye open for a red Golf GTi. Don't drive down to the main car park at the end of the road (next to the play area and shop) as it gets a bit busy.

Sunday is still the only day I would be able to make the rideout, but if everyone else wants it on the Saturday, weather permitting I'm happy to drive down late afternoon to set up the BBQ in advance for you.

Typically, looking at the 5 DAY WEATHER FORECAST Saturday does look the better bet. :blast High tide on Saturday is at 4.15pm and at 5pm on Sunday.

The one thing that struck me was that the suggested route is approx 2hrs long, which would mean that if it's a Saturday run, you will get to the BBQ RV point before I can make it, unless you find some time to kill in Saundersfoot, or the seaside pub at Wisemans Bridge or Laugharne. I reckon I can get there by 4pm at the earliest, and have the BBQ set up by 4.30pm. If anyone's worried about return times, by my reckoning you should be able to ride back from the BBQ to Cardiff in 1hr 15 mins by using the M4 if you're in a rush.

Taff, the route I posted was in progress :nenau So not to worry I have now finished it as there was no further input. Route is 5hours not counting stops so if all goes well should be perfect for the BBQ :thumb I hope it's okay. Not sure about numbers yet, but people will have to post interest for the BBQ. I spoke to BigAl today and he doesn't finish work till 1300 ish on the Sat, so can't make the ride out, but there should be no reason why he can't make the BBQ or even meet us enroute. He has to be at Rhoose for 1630 on the Sun so thats out for him!
So all we need now is for people to sign up. :augie
This map is the Final version on V9 mapsource

Taff,
The only route other than M4, will add too much time really. So I thought a hack up of 40 miles eachway should be okay :thumb

BTW I will be up for the BBQ on Sat or Sun.
So now the ball is rolling okay!

Worthy, Humvee and Paul are ewe still okay for Sat. I have PM'd Taff to say the BBQ is a non-starter as there would be a lot of work for too few people. But have said if he is going down anyway, we will stop and say hi! (and nick a snorker while we are there, just to be socialable ewe understand ):augie :D
I will be going for a ride anyway, I may even go for the senic route to Swansea if Worthy stays in his Pit
Weather is looking very good, anyone know of a nice pub enroute :thumb

BBQ or not I'm still up for a run.

What time are you thinking of starting.

As per first post. leaving my house at 1015 then going to Asdas petrol station at Coryton, leave there at 1030:thumb
Just got a PM from Taff, he will be there anyway, and we are welcome to scavinge (his words not mine)

I only said it because I knew you were thinking it. :D

The kids are looking forward to it, so we intend being there by 4pm anyway if the weather's dry, which it looks to be. I will bring some spare burgers, sausages, corn on the cob, garlic bread etc .... just in case. :thumb2
