Well, last weekend I rode my "new to me" '92GS around Lake Michigan 978 miles (Alaskan pre-ride check). Left saturday morning at 9:30am,sun and mid 60's all day, rode up the coast of Lake Michigan as much as possible, then crossed over Mackinac Bridge around 6pm. Then continued and stayed overnite at a "Flea Bag" (scooter talk for a cheap motel,$30.00) in Escanaba Michigan (called the U.P.) little after 8pm. Prit' near froze my @#$ off,41* at nite! OOOWEE,it be cold up dar,eh! Thank god for Gerbings and heated grips!! Coupla' deer, fox, and a lot of turkeys feeding on the side of the road. GS definately needs some help in the lighting department. I do miss the RT wind protection, but the factory GS seat wasn't to bad, for a factory seat!!. On the way home, stopped in Port Washington Wisconsin to visit a friend for a coupla hours. I left Port Wash with the sun shining and71*. Little bit of a head wind, but not to bad for a little scoot ride!
Home in Chicago around 3pm. Here is a picture of Mackinac Bridge.
