Hi,
Just bought for my wife a factory lowered 650 twin with 5000 miles on it, and it's very nice.
Love my twin cam GSA but this little bike is FUN to ride.
As it doesn't have a centre stand and I don't have a paddock stand (I do have a harley lift) how do you guys raise the bike to remove wheels? Is it safe to jack under the engine with say a piece of wood between the jack and the engine?
Any sensible suggestions pse.

I have a centre stand on mine but a paddock stand is relatively cheap.
I got mine from ALDI, but they don't appear very often.

Failing that, a piece of wood under the engine is usually ok, but maybe not if you have the factory/plastic skid plate on the rubber bushes.
In the past a couple of straps from the garage rafters helped stabalise things too.

Hi
I have a factory lowered F650GS. SW Motech do a centre stand particularly for that model. It's very good & makes chain maintenance a dawdle.
All the best

I would have thought that any welder would be able to cut a couple of inches out of an OEM stand and stick it back together........paddock stands are great if you're at home, but if you need to deal with a puncture out on the road you're going to either have to get creative with bricks/wood or lay the bike over.......

Thanks everyone, you are right SW Motech do now supply one for the factory lowered version (didn't when we last had one of these bikes) and I have ordered one.
