Just gota honda xl600(1985)

Going to ride russia etc in about 18 months(i hope) & don't want to take the bmw (excuse for a new toy) so picked up a 1985 xl600lmf not fast but fun

nice one, iv had several of these, make sure all the spokes in the rear wheel are properly tensioned, (can snap if you hammer it a lot)
a very good engine,
the twin carb RD was faster ,but u got a good tank range

What should i get to a tank on normal riding as i have a spare tank (damaged) which i was thinking of making bigger

i was getting around 60mpg, bit more on longer, sedate runs

LMF (PARIS DACAR) XL600 will do 300 mile on a tank full easy..

my old un in the lake district...I rode around on one tank full..Topped up to ride back home

That's the model , been riding it round & it,s a good bike, want to go through it before i go away, (plenty of time) as it has 51,000 miles on it already

yourn not kidding it's made about 10 trips up to the lakes, 4 -6 trip into wales and atleast 3 trips to cornwall....

well tidy ,Ye even got twin headlights which are as hard to get hold of, as getting your local MP to release his expenses claim...very rare...


sound example, keep a good check on yer engine oil ( runs a bit hot in slow traffic) n itl run fine..
