And what a difference it has made. The engine is now superbly smooth and pulls like a mad thing. Amazing. I think it had gradually gone out of tune without me really noticing.

The job took 2 hours while I waited at Guildford Tyres in Chiddingfold who do know what they are doing. Carbs balanced with mercury guages and then the mixtures set correctly.

Got to say that I'm still totally in love with the bike after 2 years of ownership. It has to be the most fun possible on 2 wheels and I dont regret selling my 1200GS one bit. I really urge you all to give one a go assuming you can still buy them and not the injected 990. Proper carbs, smoooooth power delivery, proper brakes with no complex ABS or anything. Handles like a dream, amazing cornering and general dynamics. Comfy riding position, light controls etc. Bloody brilliant!

Must say I loved my 950SM,had it for 3 years .PX'd it for the 990SM which was hard to ride ,snatchy and no where near sa smooth as the 950 but felt a lot more powerfull:eek: I love the look of the SMR in white but they need to sort the EFI out before I buy one. I would still buy another 950 if I could justify 3 bikes again.Glad to hear yours is well!!:thumb2

Must say I agree with Tobers. I changed my GS for a 950SM last October and it has transformed my enjoyment of motorcycling. If I could afford two bikes then I'd have another 1200GS for the 100 mile round trip to work, but since I can't I'd choose the 950SM everytime for the sheer buzz it induces. Possibly the best bike KTM have made to date.

Tobinator Problem

Hi,

Sorry for contacting you this way, but I've received a Tobinator kit from NN, which includes the D-shaped adapters for and bolts for a GSA (I need a kit for a straight R1150GS). My question is, if I were to get NN to send me the correct bolts for the GS kit, will I still be able to Tobinate my GS (what I mean is, are the slotted arms I received standard?)
