....and i'm well happy with myself. :)

OK, it's not like i stripped the clutch or anything, but a nice sense of acheivement to a learner spanner-man like myself. Came in for a nice cuppa only to read that i really should have fitted some QD's whilst i had it off.. :o , so i guess i'll have to have a re-run soon enough.

Just a word of encouragement to all those out there who doubt their own ability with the spanners....as Nike say: "Just do it...."

Eeerm - no spanners involved - just one allen key... :cool:
 
As you're this new to the spanners.... when you get round ro putting the tank back on, fire it up and it runs like a dog and conks out..... DON'T PANIC.

Just reseat your throttle cables!! ;)

So you'll be the one riding down the road with the nut off the back of the allen bolt rattling round in the sump plate then Bigtwin :rolleyes:

Nope - one the 1100 it's captive, and on the Adv it's a gripper, so you just finger tight it till it grips then do up the allen bolt - no spanner required.
 
You made sure that both the plastic spacers on the tank locating lug were still in place -


- didn't you ????? :D

Not to worry - that just means that you have the model chassis numbers with the failing final drives and chocolate bottom bearings.
