you have a 2011 GSA and you take it to the dealers for him to have a look at the winglets that have cracked on all 4 mounting points

The dealer (very nice man) says " We will get some new one fitted, and send those faulty ones back to BM"

Then a week later your poking about doing a bit of polishing and you notice the mirrors are losing the silver backing

Do you think
1 Bollox its embarrassing to have to go and complain again ,and not bother

2 Bollox go to said dealer and ask for a new pair

3 Bollox and hope it goes away

4 Bollox I bloody hate complaining over shit like this

You may have had 5 BMs and never had a complaint

They are very expensive mirrors so take it back at once it won't get better on

Thats a point got my new gs in August 2011, its been locked away since Sept last year, will have to give it the once over when I see it in June to check any quality control issues...... love the bike though took me 4,000 miles in 3 weeks last year like a dream.. seams like a dream now, can't wait to get back to her

#2 all the way. The dealer I bought my GSA from (Cooper Sunderland) is good as gold and customer service actually seems to matter.

How about calling the dealer and asking them to note the issue and take care of it at the next scheduled service

I've just gone through EXACTLY the same scenario. Both winglets and one mirror were warranty replace with Zero drama by Benhams ....In fact, I did suspect this may be Tim or Andy winding me up??

On the winglets thing though, the problem is the plastic washer. It's not "hard enough" so allows the ally through bush to penetrate and then compresses the rubber grommet (= stress on winglet hole). Replace it with a stainless one. Simple fix that'll stop it happening again

bike back for clutch

Took back the shop for clutch inspection. I had told the guy that the clutch was slipping at 6k (not just slipping it was completely braking and spinning the motor round to 8k instantly). I don't speak a lot of french and the guy was indicating with a pencil going through a hole in a sheet of paper and saying they would inspect it and repair if needbe. I thought it was something to do with the push rod but I know think he ment the gearbox shaft going through the casing and actually ment the gearbox seal was gone? Anyway I should get it back on Friday..I hope. I don't think the clutch is worn that much because it starts to bite quite early in the travel when releasing the lever.
