Hi all

I'm new here, and just thought I would pop in and say hello. I live in Stoke-on-Trent and currently ride an Aprilia SL750 Shiver. Trying to get a GS sorted soon though :)

So, I should hopefully be attending meets soon enough :)

Take care guys

Matt

Allright Geeza???:beerjug: Glad you planning to join the GS crowd - you won't regret it.

What's the Shiver like to ride?

Any "build quality" issues on them?

Welcome to the site Matt, come over to a meeting and you`ll be made more than welcome :thumb

Its a great bike to ride. Agile, quick and handles like a dream (once the stock tyres have warmed up a bit)

I love it to bits, and would keep it if I could afford to! It has some pretty good features for a 'budget' bike too. Steel braided hoses as standard, Ride by wire throttle, radial brake calipers, USD front forks, hydraulic clutch and a pretty good on board computer that gives Average MPG, top speed reached, 2 trip counters, the time, and gear indicator etc. It does a pretty respectable 120-130 miles to a tank (tank is only 15 litres). Also, they are planning on releasing this in 2009 so a belly pan and front fairing should be available to add on I would think.

The only issues I have with the build quality are merely superficial. For instance the tank is plastic. I didnt know that and felt a bit robbed!! But in fairness it keeps the weight down and if you didnt 'tap' it to see how it sounded you would not know the difference. The paintwork is of good quality, but the rear bodywork panels are quite thin. However, they dont have to support anything and they look good enough, so its all good. I cant fault the build quality on the rest of the bike.

I have been very happy with this bike, and it is a hoot to ride. Its just not ideal for big miles. Its a weekend toy, more than a life long companion :)

Take care guys.

Nice looking bike, Matt.
I must admit I don't keep up with the biking press anymore so I'm unfamiliar with the model.
Have you still got it? It would be nice to have a nose if you bring it to the Riverside meet.
