It's been a rough few months, recovering from Viral Meningitis that I contracted back in November. Basically suffering blinding migraines, extreme exhaustion and what I can best describe as seasickness :barf

Have been bedridden for the last 10 days with a chest and throat infection too. Slept perhaps 90 mins each night, and have to often stay in a dark room to keep the migraines at bay.

Annoyingly, even a wee dram makes the migraines worse, so I've been completely buggered, with no escape.:blast.. I get 15 minutes of time on my feet before I have to lay down again for a couple of hours Knackered.

Ride the bike? No - can barely stand half the time... Haven't even looked at it since November!

And no one cares - yup, feeling sorry for myself.

I had just about given up on humanity , when the universe realigned itself quite nicely.

My neighbour popped in to see how I was, and brought me a present.
He sold his commuter motorbike when he retired, and thought I might like his motorbike battery charger. :thumb2 ( if you've been following the threads, I've been wondering what to do regarding battery maintenance on my LC.)

What a very nice surprise - an Accumate charger, with all the leads and a wall bracket. For some reason this cheered me up immensely - far more than I would ever have thought it could.:bounce1

I spent one of today's 15 minutes of "upright time" fitting my new charger to my LC - used the flying lead for now, will fit an aux socket fitted later. Got it finished and connected just as the ringing in my ears started ( that's the three minute warning I get before another migraine strikes)

And the world feels a slightly better place tonight.

Mike,

Still not well enough to post this in the correct section though? :D

Dealing with TWATS since the 1970's

:blast

Sounds like a rum old do Mike, hopefully time for your health to improve.
John.

What a crap time you've had!
How long do you reckon until you're fit enough to ride?

Nope. I realised just after I pressed "send":blast

Dunno how long it'll take me to heal. It's really slow progress, so it's going to be months.
If I get back in the saddle by May, I'll be happy.

Well - actually not that happy, but I'm trying to be pragmatic, hope for the best and plan for the worst.

I could go and ride the bike now, but the brain storm of a migraine I'd get would floor me for 24 hrs, and set back the recovery at least a week.

Yeah, I'm lodging with a friend - he's been brill.

Sounds like you've had a lousy time hope it improves soon. In the same spirit of your neighbour I will selflessly volunteer to pop round and exercise your bike or you. :D
Get well soon:beerjug:
