K&N Filter - opening up the airbox?

Hi all,

I'm having fun on my bike, even in this 40 degree heat....

Anyhow, I'm about to by a K&N filter for the bike (GSA) and i've read that 'opening up the airbox' will help it breathe easier. Any chance of some photos and info on how to do this please?

I think that will be refering to getting a Larger Snorkel in take like this on my Bike...........

"Opening up the airbox" may also refer to the fitting of the R1100S intake tubes which run from inside the airbox to the throttle bodies. These are a larger diameter & so, combined with the K&N/larger snorkel, allow the engine to breathe better.
