Nearly at the stage for a change and was considering purchasing a K1200s with all the toys either new or pre registered. Dont think I would be able to stretch to the new K1300s. Does anyone have experience of the K12s? Not in a position to have test ride at the moment but intend to do so in the near future. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Had one of these for a week I'd go for a Blackbird better bike and better build quality:thumb2

If considering a Blackbird as well as the K1200S I would try and get a ride on both. I found the ergonomics on the Blackbird didn't suit me at all, but the K1200S fitted me very well. The handling on the Blackbird is not as good as the K1200S either.

+1 to what Bob says

I owned a K12s for around 8 months back in 2006. Having ridden a Blackbird as well beforehand I really enjoyed both however I found the BMW more comfy and the standard screen to offer better protection than the Honda.

I would imagine that the K13 will depress K12 values slightly too.

£/bhp is very poor value indeed but you might be swayed by BMW quirkiness and decent suspension.

Had an afternoon on one around Misano and liked the handling - just a bit let down by a revvy but gutless for a super/hyperbike engine

Brilliant Bike!!

Had one for a year now. Very fast, handles superbly, supremely stable and comfortable. Yes, it needs revs but in no way would I consider it lacking power, it's 167 bhp

I had a demo ride on one, I've owned a Blackbird for a short while in the past and when I got on the K I initially thought it was a little bland, however it wasn't, it's just that BWM have got the fuelling spot on, it's as easy to ride at 30 as it is at 130! just open the throttle a bit more and watch the horizon come flying at you

I'd have one tomorrow but I keep on saying I'd loose my license in a jiffy (already had 9 points in the past:blast, still, not as bad as the wife, 12 in one go on her ZXR750 )

I'd agree with what Bobble says and that was one of the reasons I Part-Xd mine. In short it was too fast, at least for my experience at the time.

Having said that I do like the look of the new K1300 models... ;)

I've bought CW's ex-demo bike, a year old and only 1700 miles on the clock.

I swopped it for my 07 GTSE as it had 47,000 miles on it and was getting a bit tired.
I had a hugger fitted last week to try and keep some of the muck off

That's a lovely looking machine. One of the best colour schemes they've done for it in my opinion.

How's the S experience coming along so far?

Damn it! You've got me wanting one badly again!

Sadly I've only had the chance to ride it for a couple of days, one was to get CW's to put a new back tyre on it as the on that was on it was shocking - they did it FOC and the other time was to get a hugger from CW's - which they fitted FOC! That's all I've done since owning it as the weather has been a bit touch and go, I don't mind the wet but the snow with 167bhp is a bit dodgy!!

When I have ridden it though, I've loved it but time will tell if I can do another 50,000 miles in 2 years - I suspect not but I'm going to give it a try:thumb
