Hi guys a good friend of mine has just bought a k1600, he's having problems pairing his sena smh10 to the bike I believe it pairs ok Sometimes then but when he turns the bike off it de pairs and he has to go through it all again! Any ideas would be appreciated.

Maybe he should delete all the bluetooth pairing. Then pair it again. Sena works on the principal of last one paired is first one in the queue. So he may loose the K1600 because it is further down the queue so a few taps of the jog dial can maybe bring the channel up.

I am afraid this is a well known issue with the K16. Although the Bluetooth should operate on a standard protocol, and indeed the BMW unit is made by (I think) Cardo, you will never get a reliable, stable connection. Bmw have tweaked the Bluetooth configuration slightly to ensure that only their system will work reliably. Don't you love 'em!
It took me 2 different systems ( Schuberth and Cardo) before I gave up and went with the bmw unit.
Having said that I do think the bmw units are very good and I prefer them to the Schubert SRC. I have now used a pair of them for 25k miles.
Also, despite what bmw will tell you, they fit perfectly into the Schuberth C3 and C3 pro.

I have an SMH5 and a K16GT.
Had problems initially by not following the instructions to the letter. If it partly works its impossible to fix any link without resetting the lot and starting again.
Unpair everything. Follow the instructions to the letter - published on http://www.k1600forum.com/forum/
I still find that the satnav always pairs correctly and I can hear it in my helmet, but when I switch the radio on, I don't hear that. I Switch the bikes speakers on, then off and then the Bluetooth pairing works fine and I hear the radio. No idea why it works this way, but it always does.
Have never got the sound system to see a USB stick, given up trying...
