Kappa Top Box fitting

I've got a Kappa top box from my old Yamaha that I'm thinking about fitting to my GS1150. Anyone know the difference (if there is one- price!!!) between the Kappa K84 (old) fitting plate, and the new K89 plate?

Also, I've seen posts about rear frame?? failure on the 1150, due to over loading. Anyone any further comments?
