Anyone have any experience (or now of someone who has) of the Kawasaki GTR 1400. There seems to be quite a few very low mileage examples about at the moment. Looking at the specification and asking prices and comparing to a 1200GS it looks a hell of a buy. Totally different animal I know, but it has me thinking.

Had a very brief test ride back in July, but hated it, handled horrible, and killed my wrists after about 20 mins so took it back.Engine was awesome as were the brakes.
But everyones different get a test ride in the spring see what you think.
Not for me though.Andy

I have had a GTR1400 prior to the GSA

1. Quick bike
2. KIPASS is a bit of a gimick and has been known to fail - infact in real life I found it more of a pain than using a normal key.
3. easy to scratch rear panniers as you get off the bike.
4, Mirrors only really let you see the panniers.
5. Look out for shaft oil leaks.
6. if taller than 5'10" then std screen puts all airflow to your helmet. - kawasaki taller screen flexed too much.
7. can get warm in summer as the engine air vents direct all the air onto you - ok in winter.

if you go for it make sure the rear pannier hooks have been changed as the panniers have been known to fall off.

Get a ZZR1400 and stick some luggage on it :thumb2, there was a very good one in for sale section as well, you could get a busa and do the same :augie
