Kawasaki KLE 500

My partner bought one of these today,a 2007 model, I rode it home from Gloucester, bought it from Frasers.
A bit hairy in the wind, rather have had the weight of the 1150 under me. But seemed quite happy to blat along at 80mph.

Anyone had one, any comments to make?

A mate of mine has one, likes it, it's an ER-500 thats been to the gym he says. cheap as chips and bomb proof, he says change the oils inbetween service times and it will live for ever. He nicked my can of ACF50 and the
frame is still rust free....keep an eye on the rust issue..his is 2 years old now and done 42000 and never missed a beat. Used for work trips with side cases and top box. Hope that help a bit. Fancied one my self for work at that money, (Seen in MCN for £2450 NEW so says my mate.) PS: not an off roader thou.....

From what I've read these seem to be a bit of a bargain. They were re-introduced a couple of years ago and haven't had a great press however when you look at what you get for the money they are pretty hard to beat. I've always liked bikes that sit in such a position - My old Kwaka ZR7-S was the same. Slated by the press but I really enjoyed it.

had one for a year finish is a bit poor but overall bike did everything i wanted saddle a bit hard for touring but went off to mull on mine and it never missed a beat good solid bike for the money

Mrs Mort had one a few years ago, went all over Spain and France on it and it never missed a beat....unlike the Ducati I was riding at the time
