I'm thinking about getting one of these as it turns out my bike didn't come with a stainless sytem & by the time I realised this it was rusted beyond recovery - still works OK, just cosmetic.

I've used Keihan's gear before on older BMs & MotoGuzzis & have been impressed with their longevity

Anyone using one of these on a 2009 GS/GSA?

If so how does junking the cat work? Any issues?

Any other advice appreciated.

Cheers

G

BTW Is this question technical enough for here?
Or should it be in the bling section, if I could find it?

Sgt Bilco will be along in a minute. If not, drop him a pm ... :thumb2

And here I am:D

OK, a quick run down on the Keihans are made of high grade stainless and are the exact same dimensions as the OEM pipes and have the balancer pipe. They obviously haven't got the CAT so fitting them will give you a boost in low down torque and make the engine breathe better.

They come complete with a replacement hanger and link pipe so they will fit straight on. They do go brown because of the heat but are easy to keep clean and shiny if that is your thing with solvol autosol and elbow grease.

They are made in sunny Redditch and double check if we have stock in the morning.

PM me if you want more details.

Have a set. They are good quality if yoy like to keep the original look and can be polished to original shine with no problem. It would have been better though if they were chrome plated.. Having said that, I take mine off completely and have them polished professionally at a friend. Much easier if they are really stained

Do they make a worthwhile difference on a Twin-cam :nenau. For me this is the one performance upgrade I'd consider but don't want to change for the sake of change :D

We've sold a few sets to twin cam owners but have not had any feedback as yet. I would imagine the same increase in low down power would apply to the twin cam as to the standard engine as the CAT strangles the engine breathing.

I'd be very interested to hear any feedback - perhaps you could post it here when you receive some ? Most bods are aware of the benefits on a single cam but the current models rides a lot better out of the crate so I'm not sure if it's really a worthwhile upgrade.
