Long story but my screen is knackered on my laptop thanks to no3 son abit of rope and a large object
Any how Dell want £200 quid for the repair of a 3 year old laptop.
So what to do,retire it to no1 sons room but the question is,
Can It be viewed through a desktop screen ?

Can It be viewed through a desktop screen ?

Yes. Just plug the monitor into the VDU output on the laptop, and then a key combination will switch the display to the desktop monitor.

You can often pick up LCD screens on eblag, and then effect the repair yourself.

Thanks Steve but the connections are the wrong size but the same type which put me off a bit and the monitor is about 5 years old but works fine .
Will try to get an adapter I guess.Any Idea what there called ?
