Hi All,

Has anyone experienced any issues of "torn/split" D3O armour in Klim jackets or trousers?

Just bought new Overland jacket and trousers and was repositioning the armour when I found a total of 4 pieces that were split.

All being replaced by the vendor, so absolutely no worries there but I'd be very interested to hear if anyone else has come across this.

Safe riding,

Sandman.

yes I had that problem they were replaced ,I give them a look every now and then, been ok for last year so maybe a bad batch

I am seriously looking at getting a Badlands, should I be concerned, how good is the Klim, is it really that good, it looks like the D/Bks.

No problems so far with my Badlands Pro. I had two break in half in my Hein Gericke Master V.

Does that not have black SAS-TEC armour in it? Mine certainly does.... :nenau

Dunno, the jacket got returned to Gore for a full refund and I bought the Badlands. They weren't the same type as the Badlands - I threw the broken bits away, but I remember them being black.

I came very close to buying a Badlands on Saturday, but the high, stiff collar was a deal breaker.:blast

All armour replaced at the weekend for the T5 Evo Pro, which was actually an upgrade from the T5 Evo that comes with the Overland. The dealer is going to take it to his supplier this week and show him. I will be keeping a very close eye on it though to see how it lasts in use.

I had pondered long and hard over buying a new suit.

I wanted: Goretex; a suit with good good protection (which I now have); something light in colour; a lighter weight jacket and trousers that I could layer up with.

I didn't want: to be faffing with multiple zip-in/button in waterproof liner and thermal liners that just annoy me and make me feel like the Michelin Man.

The Overland meets everything I wanted and fits me well. It is an entry level suit in the Klim range. The Badlands is the mother of all suits but it didn't fit my body or my budget. I'm very happy with my choice.

The very best armour I've used (and crashed in) is the Hiprotec from Hein Gericke. It's soft and rubbery so very comfortable but it absorbs shock amazingly well as I found when I misjudged a bike's steering ability. :-(

I wanted some more of the stuff but HG inconveniently went bust.

Blimey, you must have a really short neck :D

Or I've got a really long one......

No, but I have quite a thin neck, as I'm quite slim.:rob:D

Yes i know what you mean about the collar and i was a tad concerned about it when i got mine but softend up very quickly !

They did say that at the shop, but I wasn't convinced. I figured that when spending £1350 on a suit, it has to be perfect from the start. It's a lot of money to spend, only to find in 3 months that it hasn't softened at all.

I always said that I'd never be seen in one, but I looked at the new Rallye suit straight after and it fit perfectly, and was extremely comfortable right from the start. I bought that instead. And I don't care what I look like wearing it, as it's the most comfortable suit I've ever worn.:pullface:D

For me it is the absolute dogs genitals. Loads of venting for hot summers (Rukka can't match that) and bomb proof against pretty much anything else the weather throws at you. In a word, Awesome.

Excellent!!!

A Fly Fifer setting them straight!! hehehe
