BMW seem to have discontinued their fantastic black goretex shell jacket and trousers, known as KlimaKomfort Suit. Super light weight, strong, breathable and durable.

The cheaper RainLock suit is nylon and from personal experience, leaks. Colours are shite too.

My KlimaKomfort Jkt & Trsts got nicked along with my bike and I'm struggling to replace it.

Any ideas?

Oversuit - yup. Cant fekkin beleive they have dropped the KlimaKomfort Goretex suit. Was perfect for getting caught short in summer gear (which isn't waterproof).

The only one available now is shitty Nylon leaky one - Rainlock. Sweaty. Yuk.

I've read somewhere that BMW stoped using Gore Tex, due to some disagreemnet with DuPont (owner of the rights to GT).

The new Klimakomfort gear is just out. Not Gortex but some other breathable material. :thumb2

They have used their imagination and called it Klimakomfort 2..... Looks well made not too sure about the pockets though. They should have stock at you local BMVV Motorrad stealers. :)

If it ain't Gortex it ain't worth a £&%$!

Gortex DPM gear - rolls up small enough to go in the bum pocket of my Twat and Tuareg jackets and can be bought dead cheap from any army surplus (also just the ticket for off roading).

Or, if you want posh stuff Klim do a very tasty Gortex over thingy....................the price is a bit  though!

Goretex is a complete waste of money for an oversuit.

The breathability doesn't work unless the wearer is generating heat, and what is the point anyway? An oversuit just needs to keep out the rain:nenau

That's the theory but in practice, boil-in-the-bag oversuits can get pretty soggy inside. So long as there's a temperature differential across the membrane it should enable transpiration and windchill when you're riding should ensure that.

So, my old one piece nylon HG over-suit used to keep me dry when worn over the top of my bike gear. And turned me into a sweaty, cold, minging thing.............

My Gortex DPM gear over my Twat suit (Gortex liner in or not) keeps me dry, toasty and sweat free.................

Yup, you're right, a Gortex over-suit doesn't work

Sorry, total BS. I have a BMW Klimakomfort suit and a BMW all-nylon overall. The latter is just unbearable when it's hot. It's a sauna in there. The Goretex Klimakomfort is almost perfect.
