Someone asked a similar question in 2008, but without resolution...

I have a big pair (ooh missus) of 40litre Krauser K2 panniers, with rails and carrier, taken off my old GPz900R, but can't source a fitting kit for a 1150GS. Any ideas, perhaps a bodge/improvised solution?

The K2 panniers were as far as I can remember out of production well before the R1100/1150 GS range were released.

I think you will need to partake in some bodgineering making use of the standard bmw top pannier mounting points and the pillion footrest bracketry.

I personally would start with picking up a couple of sets of used Krauser mounting brackets from E Bay or a breakers ,buy some steel strip and either break out the welder or find someone who can weld it for you

Thanks Neil, I feared as much...

I have a couple of old fitting kits from other bikes, so may well be able to cobble together, sorry, craft a finely engineered set-up. Alternatively, I also have a neighbour who is a skilled professional welder who might be able to knock something up for a few beer vouchers.
