Evening all,

What is the realistic/average tank range for one of these beasties ?, dealer says 120 but the tank size is 22 litres
Are the KTM heated grips any good ?
Is the bike any good - breath of fresh air etc ?

Cheers,

Rich.

I would have thought a KTM forum the best place to ask even though there is a section here:nenau Anyway 22 litres is about4 1/2 gallons of anyones money so if you are only getting 120 to a tank thats about 26 mpg:eek: I would have thought the KTM would be around 40mpg giving about 180 to the tank but I'm purely guessing.

Oh and by the way, any heated grips are good;)

I've found on mine that the fuel light comes on around 150 miles and thats on a bike thats barely run in and not riding for economy.
With regards to the heated grips the KTM ones look a bit naff to me so I'll be looking for something else. I think they're essential though as having come from an F650GS with them to a bike without and I defo notice the difference.

Funny but the KTM branded heated grips look just like the daytona heated grips I had on my Kwak.

:augie

They're only about £30 too from hein gericke

My mileage was very poor until the bike got the latest EFI mapping. Now the light comes on at about 150 miles - about the same as it did for the R1200 GS.

The KTM grips are better than the BMW ones but the switch looks less tidy. Function over form.

The bike isn't good, it's fantastic.

I don't know about the tank range, but I had a ride on a 990 Adventure today :thumb2

I couldn't get over how small it felt after the GS. It goes well, handles very nicely and is pretty comfortable too. It has a real quality feel about it, wghich is nice after the bubbling powder coating in the GS fork clamps and lower legs.

Am I tempted? Maybe...............!
