Lambswool seat cover

I now have a lovely black lambs pelt to make a seat cover for my bike.

Just hanging it over the seat suggests it is difficult to get the cut right around where the seat joins the tank.

Can somebody post a picture of a 1200GS fitted with lanbswool cover?

Just phoned up and told them what bike I had, they did the rest

This is what I needed to see, with the sheepskin wrapped around the seat completely. Thanks all. - and Ugg, I think yours needs a drink of refreshing water and it will soon perk up

I got two Lambswool motorcycle seat pads (RRP £9.99 each) from www.lambland.co.uk when they had 10% off as mentioned in the bargain forum a few months ago. They were not identical but both managed to cover all of the rear seat. I chose one that covered the front seat as best it could and trimed of the excess. To help cover the front part of the front seat I patched together the excess pieces, with dental floss (very strong) as suggested by Ogmios, who also very kindly sent me some heavy duty elastic webbing. Finished both seat pads off by adding elastic. Used the heavy duty webbing stuff for the rear seat and some thinner stuff for the front seat.

I have used mine quite a few times now and find it very comfortable and cool/warm depending on weather. Only problem is that it add slight height to the seat so back on my tip toes. Went for a run tonight with Skye and she loved her seat and said it was very comfortable and warm.

Well I had a go at this wrap around seat cover and no way on a GS1200 is there enough clearance to be able to refit the seat properly. There is so much bulk of lambswool that the clips will not go down enough to engage.

Will make a template, and trim it to hang just over the seat, with velcro straps afixed to keep it in place.

Is alambswool seat cover cooler? I mean does it prevent damp seat in sunny conditions syndrome - or are they just more comfortable to sit on - dooooh

stops yer arse burnin...or stickin' to the seat..
n if ye dont get an old ewe like mine (thats turns hard in the rain)...a few shakes and warm sun will dry it out
