Large fuel tank

Anyone know if the "large " fuel tank off the GS adventure(r) fits older GS1150's as I reckon the best range i've got out of the standard one is 200mile and usually closer 170mile.

Yes it does....

....but make sure you're sitting down before asking the price! If you have a look at www.ADVrider.com and do a search for GSA tank, you should find a thread from someone that has done it.

I believe that you can now specify the big tank on a new GS, not just the Adventure (may be wrong, but a friend of a friend, who has just ordered a new GS, was asking about the pros & cons of having it as an option).

It's £500 if you buy a tank on it's own and only £250 as an option if you spec it on an Adventure. Spares prices - don't get me going!!!!!!!

Misunderstood what you meant...

...the Adventure option is £250. Obviously the option is offset by the cost of the standard tank which is not required. I suspect, therefore, that the option cost of a large tank is probably £250 across the range....

standard gs tank painted in mandarin is 817 euro

adventure big tank primed is 620 approx euro..

just got one, waiting to get it sprayed..

I spoke to SPC about this idea a while back and was told you also needed the pump/sender unit aswell @ about £100 a go......
