I've seen them before Jason. I think Steptoe as at Least one in his stash.

If you want to part with it it would be very useful on my PD :thumb2

Thanks Neil.
the tray has an 84 year stamp.so couldn't work out what it was from
Anyhow ,Rob will be the new custodian of this item.

My R80 mono lever had one like that. Very useful. It was also blessed with a tail stash at the rear of the seat. I'm thinking if you mounted a gel battery sideways this would go straight in (maybe).

The Parts Catalogue I've got lists the G/S and ST tool box as 52 53 1 242 233 and the gasket lid as 52 53 1 242 317
Hope that helps Colt.

I made my own some years ago, 2006. Still giving good service.

I just made a plug from XPS. Laminated a few pieces of 70mm XPS I had knocking about and cut it to shape with a saw so that fitted the space available quite snugly.
Then trimmed 1cm off all faces, except the top and checked it was a good clearance fit. Wrap the plug in cling-film and the do the fibreglass layup with Holts stuff available from Halfrauds and the like. Leave a good "skirt" at the top of what will form the frame hanger.

The top lip was formed buy wrapping the subframe tubes in cling-fillm and then applying resin to the raw matting at the top and bending it over, but not round, the frame tubes and the two supports on the mudguard (GS). Cover all areas with film that might get contaminated with resin. Trim the sides over the frame tubes.
I fixed to to the rear mudguard with a small both and wing nut and plastic washers.
Sand it up a bit if you want. Paint the whole thing black and its almost invisible.

Simple and effective. Its volume is just short of 7 litres.:thumb
