I thought I'd begin by introducing myself and my intent with Lawshall Motorworks. My name is Ethan, I have been a technician at the local BMW dealership, Reiten Motorrad for the past 7 years. I have had the privilege in that time to work with some great people, learn invaluable knowledge and work extensively on some great bikes. I have gained a particular love for the boxer series, from the classic air heads to the newer liquid cooled series.
We will be specialising in all BMW's and servicing inline with manufacturers guidelines, but what does this mean for you? Basically if you have purchased a BMW with warranty, this will still be protected, OEM parts are used on all bikes with warranty, but should your bike be slightly older or not qualify for warrenty, Patent or Aftermarket parts can be used upon request (oil filters, oil, etc)
Where will we be located? I am in the process of building a purpose built workshop in Lawshall, close to the main road between Bury st edmunds and sudbury. But with the response from the local biking community we will be opening an interim workshop near the Reiten showroom (Glemsford) to cater for those who need their bikes prepped or serviced before the summer season

Our aim is simple:
✅️
Create a workshop you can trust with your bikes, we know how we'd want ours to be treated
✅️
Bring quality service and repair work to all brands, with a strong focus on the BMW Motorrad range
✅️
15% off for CBT license holders, we're looking into the possibilty of offering weekend basic maintenance classes (on their own bike) for customers who can provide their pink license.
✅️
Directly offer a focus for the Oil cooled (hex and twin cam) series. We want to provide a support for this community after seeing many perfect bikes sold or off the road due to identified common issues such as clutch seals, final drive seals and pumps.
Please message if you have any questions regarding our services and wether we can accommodate your bike in our workshop soon!
Thankyou - Ethan Stenner
Another small project I'm working on is offering a bolt on option to have a 17" front wheel on the GS/GSA series (pictured below testing at snetterton)

Having been prodded privately to provide some feedback:-

Ethan is a really helpfull, first-class, can-do chap. It was the first time I'd met him, though he's serviced my bike before at Reiten. He's currently operating out of the workshop at Glemsford still. He clearly knows his stuff and loves his job. I had a 12K service done, so everything apart from fork oil change. He took and charged two hours for the work. To put it into perspective, another indy BMW guy in east Suffolk did a 6K oil change service for me 3 years ago and charged 2 hours labour for that! I watched Ethan working for part of the time, then went and had a late lunch at the cafe a few hundred yards away.

I will use Ethan again. Recommended. (y)

Did you know that valve clearances are checked at 30c? After my lunch at the cafe, when I returned to the workshop, the valve covers were off. Ethan used an IR temperature gauge to check the temperature and waited for 30c before deploying the feelers gauges. He showed me the decompressor gear that aids turning over for starting. He also presented me with two slightly bent valve cover bolts from the side I'd been down on last November, pushed by a chum at a roundabout. Without asking, Ethan had replaced with a pair of spares he had lying around. No charge. I'm liking Ethan. (y)

I couldn't be more impressed with the service I received from Ethan at Lawshall Motorworks. He carried out a full service and valve check on my bike today, Sunday morning, which already says a lot about his dedication and work ethic.

From start to finish, Ethan was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. He took the time to explain everything he was doing, which gave me real confidence that my bike was in the best hands. The attention to detail was outstanding, and you can tell he genuinely cares about doing the job properly rather than just rushing through it.

It's not often you find someone willing to go the extra mile like that-especially outside normal working hours. The bike now runs smoother than ever, and I left knowing it had been thoroughly looked after.

If you're looking for reliable, high-quality work and someone you can trust, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ethan. Absolutely top-notch service.

Happy to support what’s been said so far although my airhead isn’t due in to 5/5th.
Impressed during my two visits so far (to check out/ confirm), interested, knowledgeable & personable.
Was good mates with Charlie Pedals (Overland & Classic) while they were both apprentices at Norton, and most recently father to their second child, Charles, or Charlie if you want to wind up his wife.

Great service from Ethan following an issue with my GS. Offered several solutions all of which made perfect sense to me.
When I collected the bike a full explanation of what was done & was a little cheaper than 1st discussed which for me shows how genuine Ethan is.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lawshall motorworks.
