the maintainance instructions booklet suggests removal of the battery plus an oil and filter change prior to laying the bike up out of use - it also suggests coating metal/chrome with an acid free grease - last year i merely filled up the fuel tank and let some air out of the tyres - the booklet also suggests supporting the bike under the engine so that the wheels are not taking any weight - whats the concensus of opinion on this

..it probably tells you to obey all speed limits as well

drain the tank and fuel system
spray it all over with a whole can of wd40 and throw a breathable cover over it.

Go indoors and hibernate for 8 months.

next year for the sunny week you call summer make sure its ready to go
